I was born and raised in New York City and giving back to the community was part of my daily life at home and at school. When I moved to Tampa as a student and young professional, I used community involvement to meet new people that cared about the same things I did.   As I progressed in my career and started a family, my ability to participate in community work lessened and I was ok with that.  During the 6 months prior to joining HHIHH the need to give back and get connected with strong women has grown larger and larger.  Meeting and working with HHIHH has filled that philanthropic hole and helped me to meet a new group of competent, confident and fun women.  What more could I ask for? I am looking forward to 2012!

There are many reasons I enjoy being a member of High Hopes in High Heels, but the one that is most important to me is the feeling that I really can make a difference. It's amazing at the end of the day to know that you've helped others. My favorite day with the HHinHH ladies was when we helped a client of the Centre for Women. We spent HOURS in the hot sun cleaning her overgrown yard. I remember feeling hopeless at so many different points throughout the day. It seemed like no matter how hard we worked, there was still a mess. At the end of the day, when all of our efforts seamlessly came together, the look of surprise and gratefulness on the homeowners face was irreplaceable---I've never had such an accomplished and rewarding feeling. You can't substitute or find that anywhere else!

I love being a member of High Hopes in High Heels because it gives me the opportunity to give back to the community that I have been a part of my entire life. I enjoy spending time with other women who want to make a difference.  Being a member has given me a new outlook on life.  I have realized that this is what I want to do with my life.  Helping others gives me great satisfaction and fills me with happiness.  You never know how you will impact someone else's life.

For longtime I was looking for an opportunity to be of service to the community.  Having recently moved from South Florida to the Tampa area was having a difficult time finding the right organization. One morning while getting ready to go to work and watching the news, I saw a report about High Hopes in High Heels and what the ladies of the group have accomplished in a very short time.  This was exactly what I had been looking for, a volunteer group not concentrating in one particular charity, but in helping the community in general.  I was ecstatic, I was finally going to be able to contribute my time and work to help worthy causes and to assist others in need.  I am so glad I found HHiHH and feel honored to be a part the group.
